Meet Dr. Richard Eisner

Dr. Eisner is Central Georgia's laser vision authority. He has performed nearly 20,000 laser correction procedures on many of your friends and family members. More Central Georgians have had LASIK here than in all other local practices combined. Certainly, there are other practices that offer laser vision correction, but none offer the combination of experience, technology, and one-on-one interaction that Dr. Eisner brings to this area. Experience is THE key factor in surgical results, but Dr. Eisner's commitment to being the best refractive surgeon for Central Georgia does not stop there. The technology utilized in this office is considered to be the best in the industry today, including the VISX Star S4IR Excimer laser system, the Intralase FS laser, the Oculus Pentacam mapping system. Dr. Eisner's premedical education in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering served as a stimulus to his interest in ophthalmology and laser vision technology. He received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas and then attended graduate school in Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The Degree of Medicine was earned at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. He completed a Family Practice Internship in Lubbock and then a four-year residency program in Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

In 1984, he started his practice in diseases and surgery of the eye, and has performed all aspects of general eye care, including cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, and pediatric eye care.

In 1991, Dr. Eisner began performing the (pre-laser) refractive procedure known as radial keratotomy (RK) and not long after, began specializing in refractive surgery. As a result, when the FDA approved LASIK in 1996, Dr. Eisner was already experienced to perform the procedure. He was the first ophthalmologist in Central Georgia to perform laser vision correction and, having successfully treated thousands of patients in this area, he is also Central Georgia's most experienced laser eye surgeon.

Dr. Eisner specializes exclusively in laser vision correction. Our patients have come from as far as South America, Mexico, California, Oklahoma, Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and all around the state of Georgia to have him perform their surgery.
