We recently wrote a blog post about LASIK Surgery Improving the Performance of Elite Athletes in the MLB, NBA, NFL, PGA and other professional sports. Pablo Sandoval, third baseman for the San Francisco Giants is another case where LASIK Surgery is expected to increase his performance. He actually had good vision in one eye and not-so-good in the other eye. Being a switch hitter, you can understand why Sandoval having the best possible vision in both eyes is so important.

It’s tough to wear eyeglasses while playing sports. You have to worry about breakage. They fall off unless you strap them on with one of those dorky rubber bands. They fog up in humid situations. Your peripheral vision is reduced. In sports such as baseball, basketball, football, hockey and lacrosse, these issues can impede your performance, even if they don’t prevent you from playing. Eyeglasses are completely unsuited to sports such as swimming, diving, wrestling, boxing and cage fighting, and contact lenses aren’t much better. Have you ever had sweat run into your eyes while wearing your contacts? It’s anything but pleasant, and may even increase your risk of eye infection.
